"Having the vegetal properties of a green tea and the muted nuttiness of a white tea, Daughter Ring straddles the fine line between green and white teas."

California Tea House's Daughter Ring is a very unique green tea. This tea's stand out factor is in its packaging; this tea is wound into spiraling ring shapes that really made me appreciate the efforts that went into preparing this tea. This green tea is from the China's Yunnan Province, but to me, this tea has a mildly astringent grassy flavor that was more reminiscent of a Sencha. The grassiness was balanced out by a soft nutty flavor that's often found in white teas. Having the vegetal properties of a green tea and the muted nuttiness of a white tea, Daughter Ring straddles the fine line between green and white teas. This tea is very light-bodied and thus lends itself to drinking in large quantities. I wouldn't recommend re-steeping the same leaves more than once unless the first infusion is very brief. I tried a second infusion after a longer (3 minutes) first infusion and the result was a cup of tea, that although not entirely flavorless, was too weak to satisfy. In all, this was not my favorite tea, but it was still enjoyable. This tea would be good for green tea and white tea lovers alike, and especially for those that enjoy interesting presentations of tea.
