As I recently discovered when sampling their Pineapple Strawberry blend, Hawaii is growing tea! Unfortunately, Hawaiian Natural Tea's website seems to be down tonight, but I do recall that it was worth browsing and had lots of good info on it---in particular what being organic is really all about. This Mango Peach offering is a blend of green and black teas. Hawaiian Natural Tea lists the ingredients in this as simply organic green and black teas and natural flavors. The sample tea bag is pretty typical looking and it smells primarily of peaches with a touch of mango for good measure. Since I am unable to locate any brewing parameters, I prepared this water cut just short of boiling and infused the tea bag for 3 min. The resulting cup tastes primarily of peaches with just some mild glimmers of mango here and there. I personally wish that the mango contribution was a bit more pronounced. Unfortunately, the tea base leaves a bit to be desired and is kind of what I expect from a bagged tea. I found my cup to be a bit bitter and dry. I inspected the contents of my used tea bag and found that it consists of many small particles and bits of leaves.

While I am excited that the good ole USA is growing tea in Hawaii and like their claims of organic and natural ingredients, this is not one that I would seek out for purchase. I would very much like to taste some of the Hawaii's whole leaf tea offerings. I personally enjoyed their Pineapple Strawberry offering more if you are considering a purchase.
