Thumbs up!"The spiciness of this tea is right on. I found this tea to better enjoyed by just appreciating the harmonious blend of ingredients rather than trying to tease apart the flavors of ginger, fennel, cinnamon, and cloves."

Ayurveda Pura offers a variety of teas that could be classified as "functional" teas, meaning that their ingredients contribute some health-related benefit. Today's tea, All Day Kapha Herbal, is a mix of green tea with cloves, cinnamon, fennel and ginger which is designed to have beneficial effects on the mind and the digestive system, while also aiding in the removal of toxins from the body. I've said it about 50 times before, and I'll say it again: I usually drink tea for the taste, and if the health benefits claimed are true, then that is a bonus for me. Most important to me is that the tea taste good enough to drink; if it tastes nasty, then I won't drink it and therefore won't receive any alleged health benefits.

All Day Kapha Herbal has a sweet and enticing smell- the cinnamon and cloves really drew me in. I have to admit that I was surprised to learn on the website that this is a green tea blend because the blend consists of such small pieces/dust that I couldn't see any tea leaf pieces in it. With its hodgepodge blend of crushed spices and leaves resembling a sample from a sandbox or a sandy soil, this tea won't be winning any awards for appearance any time soon. But a less-than-aesthetically pleasing appearance can easily be ignored if the tea delivers in the much more important taste category. And indeed, All Day Re-Energize does just that. This tea is warm and inviting, for sure. The spiciness of this tea is right on- not too strong, not too weak. It was strong enough to leave my mouth feeling clean and refreshed but not so strong as to be harsh and burning on my throat, as can sometimes be the case in teas with these ingredients.

The flavor profile does seem to make this tea better suited for colder seasons, but as I type this, it is about 96 degrees and I am still enjoying a hot cup of this tea. I found this tea to better enjoyed by just appreciating the harmonious blend of ingredients rather than trying to tease apart the flavors of ginger, fennel, cinnamon, and cloves. The green tea flavor was all but absent from this mix, and truly I didn't miss it. The spices are really what this tea is all about and the green tea is camouflaged amongst all those dominant flavors. This would be a great way to ingest green tea if you aren't particularly a fan of the earthier green tea flavors.

I rate this tea fairly high because I think the blend of spices worked quite well. My main caution with this tea is that it be prepared in the "Brew as you like" tea filters as it is intended to be; the small particle size will result in clogs and/or particles slipping through into your tea if you try to use other types of straining devices.
