WeAreTea.com's Moroccan Mint received two gold stars at the 2009 Great Taste Awards. Thus, naturally I approached this tea with high expectations. This tea was drinkable and pleasant, yet I don't think it was the best Moroccan Mint I have had... and had I been the judge distributing gold stars at the Great Taste Awards, I don't think I would have bestowed any upon this blend. To start with, the blend brews up to this murky tea unlike anything I have ever seen in this type of tea before. It looked more like thick apple cider than tea. However, my main issue with the tea was the flavor. I would have preferred a stronger mint flavor. The mint flavor was too weak to balance out the gunpowder green tea, which was a bit too astringent for my likings. I want to reiterate that this is not necessarily a horrible tea, but as far as Moroccan Mint teas go, it misses the mark. As gunpowder tea goes, it's pretty good, but I just think the mint could have been played up a little bit more. I would only recommend this to those that like their mint flavors to be super-subtle.
