Thumbs up!"The primary flavor is of banana; to me the mango played just a minor supporting role in this tea by adding a natural sweetness to the blend. The banana flavor seemed mostly natural and seemed to give the tea a creamy and satisfying texture."

jafmangobananaI have to admit that I approached my sample of Jaf Tea Mango Banana tea from Coffeewiz.com with a bit of skepticism and was prepared to be less-than-thrilled about it. And I say this only because I have had numerous banana-flavored teas that really miss the mark. My experience has shown that banana teas typically reek of artificial flavors and lack any natural banana flavor. However, I could actually see the pieces of dried banana (as well as pieces of mango) in this blend, so I know that at least some of the flavor here is natural. I could not find any ingredients list on the CoffeeWiz website, so I can't state for sure whether or not artifical flavorings were also added. Anyway, the tea has a rich banana aroma that I found very enticing. The flavor of the tea is a little bit weaker than the aroma, but I actually found that the aroma was a bit too strong, so the reduced intensity of the flavor isn't necessarily a bad thing. My first instinct was to add milk and sugar to this tea, but I decided that to properly evaluate this tea, I needed to taste it on its own first. I'm glad I made that decision, because this tea is perfectly drinkable on its own, and really needs nothing added to it. The primary flavor is of banana; to me the mango played just a minor supporting role in this tea by adding a natural sweetness to the blend. The banana flavor seemed mostly natural and seemed to give the tea a creamy and satisfying texture. I don't think the Ceylon tea base used here is top-of-the-line, so I would recommend that you watch the infusion time...too long of an infusion could result in a poor-tasting tea. In all, however, I would have to say this is the tastiest banana tea I have had, and I found this to be a filling and satisfying flavored black tea. I wouldn't recommend this if you generally drink high-grade unflavored black teas, but if you enjoy flavored black teas, you'll probably like this (unless, of course, you don't like bananas).
