(Rewrite)Customer service is a big deal to me. That's why I get so uppity when companies won't ship to Canada. Sure, I could get them to mail tea to my parents and have them send it to the North, but it's the principle of the thing. I chose who I'd hire to put in a new furnace based on who groveled over me the most. I chose the dentist that's taking out my wisdom teeth because one place called me 7 days sooner than the other. Big deal.
Shortly after I posted my last Yogic Chai review, they got a hold of me, upset that the sample I had reviewed was obviously too old to be a good example of their tea. They immediately offered to send me a new sample, plus a different one for funzies. This is an excellent example of good customer service, and I genuinely appreciate it. Another example of bad customer service is the fact that it took Canada Post 3 weeks to get this tea to me. Three painful weeks, but it's finally here in my loving arms.
I simmered the leaf for four minutes then added a half cup of milk and a splash of agave nectar. The smell of the tea cooking lit up my kitchen and my senses. This is definitely a different type of Masala Chai. It is extremely smooth and mellow, yet still distinctly a spice blend. The flavour is nutty and spicy and tastes decidedly fresh - like it was made immediately before being shipped to my house.
My stomach is delicate after waking up, so a tea this gentle yet interesting would be a fantastic early morning blend. This is easily one of the best Masala Chais I have had and I look forward to trying the other sample Yogic Chai sent my way.
