twoleavesdarjeelingThis is the second time I have tried one of Two Leaves and a Bud sachets and I have to admit that if one is looking for a bagged tea then they are the way to go. Their sachets are large enough to give the leaves room to move and are made of biodegradable cornstarch based nylon. I also really appreciate the fact that they include brewing instructions on each of their freshness pouches. Makes it easier to just grab one and go. They are also portioned for a larger tea mug rather than a tea cup. As one who tends to drink numerous mugs of tea, I do appreciate this fact.

The tea up for this evening’s enjoyment is an Organic First Flush Darjeeling. I used boiling water and let the sachet steep for 4 minutes. The resulting liquor is medium amber in color. The aroma is all tea just a hint of a fruity scent. The tea itself is one of the lighter Darjeelings that I have had the pleasure of tasting. This is a rather smooth black tea with just a hint of sharpness to keep it interesting. The astringency is rather mild when it is hot but seems to increase as the tea cools.

Two Leaves and a Bud bill this Darjeeling as an afternoon tea. I can easily see how this would be a great pick-me-up as one’s energy starts to wan. I myself probably won’t stock this tea in my stash simply because I have far too large of one already and Darjeeling just isn’t my favorite black tea. But please don’t let this stop you as this is a first rate bagged tea especially if you are a Darjeeling lover.
