The leaves are smaller than I would have predicted, but they have the classic Darjeeling scent and prismatic colours. I steeped it at 190 degrees for two minutes to get one of the best mistakes of my life in the form of one of the best Darjeelings I have ever had.
It is sweeter than most Darjeelings, an aspect that adds to the overall depth rather than detracts. It is a complex yet mellow cup with no bitterness and an overall smooth quality. It has all the classic flavours, including muscatel and nuttiness. It would be an excellent place to start if you are newer to the "champagne of teas" and reluctant to brave one with any bitterness.
I brewed a second steep with slightly hotter water for three minutes. The cup was more subdued and didn't have the wow of the first, which I'd expect. It is a good wind down from the excitement of before, and I'd certainly resteep again.
This was a fantastic experience with a clearly quality tea. I had the opportunity to enjoy several LeafSpa teas, and this one was definitely a stand-out. I'll definitely be looking to buy this in the future.
