Thumbs up!"It had a lovely flavor! Very vegetal, though not grassy. It has a natural sweetness and becomes even sweeter as it cools!"

I recently been introduced to Silk Roads Teas, though they have been around for over 16 years. Every year, they spend time traveling in the provinces of Fujian, Anhui, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hunan, Yunnan and Guangxi to find the teas they offer.

Heavenly Blue Peak sounded so unique and intriguing, I just had to try it! I am very impressed with the size of the tea leaves, and even more intrigued with how dark and blue-green they are! The moment I pulled this tea out of the package I knew why it was named "Heavenly Blue Peak".

The scent was gentle - like newly mown lawn + parsely - a lovely gentle green tea smell. The website says to brew it for 1-2 min at 185 degrees. After one minute it was extremely light colored, and though I could taste the tea, it was very weak. So I went for a second min of steeping. The leaves seemed to "wake up" after a few seconds into the second min and began to expand a bit. The tea became a very light golden color.

Don't be fooled by the very light color of this tea. It has a lovely flavor! Very vegetal, though not grassy. It has a natural sweetness and becomes even sweeter as it cools! It yields multiple steeps and has quickly become one of my favorite green teas!
