I have to admit that while I am not too fond of Tiesta Tea's website as you have to jump thru a few hoops to get to a decent search engine I have been pleased with their teas. Today is a beautiful sunny day that just cried out for a fruity green tea so I grabbed the Cranberry Rose.Visually this is a delightful tea. The olive green tea leaves are mostly unbroken and are highlighted by whole raspberry and cranberries. There are a couple smaller rosebuds tossed in for even more color. The aroma is good enough to eat. I am able to pick out all of the individual ingredients as they blend together.
I set this up to brew using four rounded teaspoons of leaves to four cups of water, the green tea setting on my tea-maker and a steep time of 3 minutes. The resulting liquor is a clear pale green in coloring with an aroma of berries.
I was slightly disappointed in the flavor. The aroma was so wonderful, both wet and dry, that I expected more fruitiness in the taste. The berry flavor is there but muted. The flavor of the green tea does come thru on with a slight astringency. And I am not sure what happened to the sweetness of the roses.
This isn't a bad cup of tea just not what I was expecting. I do recommend it for anyone that prefers just a hint of fruitiness.
