|"Very impressive younger pu-erh. Well worth checking out."|
The leaves in this tea are a dark olive and are broken into smaller pieces. The aroma has tinges of oak and honey with the classic earthiness underlying it all. I set it up to brew using four teaspoons of leaves to four cups of water. I let it steep for 3 minutes. The resulting liquor is a dark golden brown with the earthy aroma overlaid with the aroma of a forest after a rain.
Now this is a younger pu-erh and I have discovered that I do tend to prefer their brashness. This particular selection is actually rather mellow. It has a very well rounded flavor and a thicker mouthfeel. It has a sweeter almost fruity flavor reminiscent of a darjeeling on the front with a dry earthy lingering aftertaste. Very impressive and enjoyable. This is one pu-erh that will be hitting my cart the next time I order from Norbu Teas.
