The more I sample offerings from Golden Tips Tea, the more I realize what a great company this is. Today I sampled their Jubilee tea, which is described as "exceptional Darjeeling Tea" on the Golden Tips website. The tea leaves are long and wiry, consisting mostly of dark brown colors but with occasional tan and green flecks popping out as well. The smell is certainly very Darjeeling-ish in nature, with equal parts muscatel, fruit, and a clean, green component all readily present. I steeped the leaves in boiling water for three minutes. The infusion is a light tan color, similar in appearance to apple juice.
The flavor of this tea is, as was advertised, exceptional. It is crisp and clean with a distinct honey finish. The muscatel flavor is present but is not overwhelming; the same applies to the crisp green flavor. Overall, this is a very satisfying and smooth offering, and a top-notch example of a Darjeeling done right. I would happily drink this again...and again...and again. I have no reservations recommending this to others.
