|" So Coconut is one of the most delicious teas ever because, well, it is soooooooo coconutty."|
I am enjoying a moment of complete perfect Nirvana....I have a cup of one of the most delicious teas ever, have some Maroon 5 playing and did I mention that my 5 yro daughter is gone for the evening? Yes, I said it. So Coconut is one of the most delicious teas ever because, well, it is soooooooo coconutty. For me, nothing can have too much coconut! Coconut is one of my favorite things and this blend has a LOT of coconut! In the sample of this that I received, I would say it was about a 50/50 ratio of real pieces of sweet shredded coconut and black tea. I can't say that I am surprised that this is so stinkin tasty as American Tea Room is one of those tea companies that gets it right most of the time.
To prepare this blend, I followed the recommended brewing guidelines that suggested a 190 degree water temp and settled on a 4.5 min infusion time. The prepared cup is very fragrant and the aroma coming from my Breville smells like a delicious tropical paradise. The flavor of the prepared cup is straight up extreme coconut. So tasty and perfect. This offers a very sweet, creamy coconut flavor. The flavor profile is very full and pretty much gets in your face. If you don't love coconut, then you won't love this either. The black tea base is slightly astringent and largely overpowered, but of a good enough quality that it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the blend. Oh, and did I mention that this ices like a dream? The flavor profile is strong enough that it stands up well to an ice cube. David, the proprietor of American Tea Room, has suggested to me that mixing in a bit of pineapple juice is quite tasty. I haven't tried it that way, but I thought I'd mention it. I have tried it on separate occasions with a splash of coconut milk and vanilla creamer----all outstanding options. Though this is just so tasty that it is good sans anything.
This, by far, has one of the most strong yet delicious coconut flavor profiles on the market. It is an in-your-face coconut flavor profile that is sure to please coconut lovers like myself that cannot have too much coconut. This is one of the few blends on the market that can truly satisfy my love of coconut without adding a bit of coconut milk to it. Further, the blend gets brownie points for being so fresh when I tore open the package. I would also like to mention my tea drinking experience while writing this review was nicely enhanced by my Maroon 6 playlist. David, I know Adam Levine frequents your shop. Offer him a cup of tea on me and inbox me for my credit card number. Tell him he was great at DTE on 8/21. Oh, and if he isn't sure what he is in the mood for....So Coconut is a good option. ;) Ah, Nirvana, I just can't get enough of you.
