52teaslogo.jpgMy dog tried eating this one, but I saved enough to be able to sample it, at least. Even with the dog spit, it is delicious. Dry, it smells divine - like syrup and if comfort has a smell, it's this. It has a sweet, lingering aftertaste with a distinct maple syrup taste. Maple syrup does not always translate well to teas - it can taste artificial or just like a generic sugar flavour. I'm not saying this tastes particularly realistic, but it's definitely maple syrup.

The base tea is blended well with the flavour. It's nice and hearty and is a perfect pairing. There is a pleasant butteriness that cuts through the maple sweetness and adds to the creaminess of the tea.

Not surprisingly, I suspect this would be the perfect breakfast blend. It is comforting, well blended, and as of this write-up, almost sold out. It's one of the many teas that makes me just a wee bit sad that 52 Teas' blends are always limited edition.
