Thumbs up!"The creme is present but it's a creamy vanilla that is sophisticated and doesn't overwhelm the delicious bergamot that's the heart of the reason people so often enjoy a cup of this old standard. "

This Earl Grey de la Creme is a long leafed black tea with cornflower and calendula petals interspersed in a pretty way. The scent is very creamy and citrusy with bergamot. The bergamot has a somewhat perfume like quality to it. When I take a long deep inhalation of this tea (for what lover of Earl Grey doesn't enjoy the scent of the leaf nearly as much as the brewed tea?) I get first a nice creamy quality that goes straight into citrus and then closes in that delectable creamy vein.

I prepared this tea by infusing a teaspoon of leaf to 8 ounces of boiled water and steeped three and a half minutes and added a little liquid stevia as well.

The cup is dark orange in color. Its taste is smooth and creamy with a really bold, wet and citrusy bergamot. The bergamot flavor is bursting at the seams. The creaminess is nuanced. While definitely a part of the flavor the bergamot at once holds its own. The bergamot is somewhat spicy in a hard to define kind of way. As the tea cools a little bit, a nice vanilla flavor emerges, especially to round out the close. This is a distinct and delicious Earl Grey de la Creme.

I would say this would make an excellent choice for an Earl Grey lover. The creme is present but it's a creamy vanilla that is sophisticated and doesn't overwhelm the delicious bergamot that's the heart of the reason people so often enjoy a cup of this old standard.
