"A fine Darjeeling Tea grown on an average altitude of 4500 feet. This tea is nurtured with the help of organic fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers are not used at all and are banned entry within the plantation area."
I sampled this tea using a teaspoon of the leaf to 8 ounces of just under the boil water and allowed a first infusion steep time of three minutes. I tried my sample of this with the addition of a light sweetener. The tea infuses to a pumpkin copper color and my first sip was excellent! This Darjeeling is smooth with strong citrus notes that are reflected with pleasantly spicy undertones and the vaguest impression of smokiness that is just enough to give the tea a certain something that entices and perks the tastes. Overall impressions: Spicy, citrusy, smooth.
As the tea cools, a wonderful honeyed quality emerges and the tea closes with a good muscatel finish that lingers. A second infusion can be had (and should be had!). It's smooth but sturdy and tastes great with or without sweetener.
