There’s really nothing about this tea that doesn’t say Autumn! Everything from its dark brown dry leaves to the vibrant copper color of the liquor to the cooked fruit (think warm fruit pies!) flavors remind me of the season during which this tea was picked…Autumn.

After brewing 1 tsp of dry leaves at boiling for 3 minutes, thoughts of red, orange and brown leaves in Central Park, hot cider and crisp mornings all came flooding back. Both the aroma and flavor of this tea has the quality of mom’s apple pie, packed with sweet, cooked fruit flavors. The astringency on the tip of the tongue gives it a brisk quality – sort of like waking up to that first frost. The body was a bit thinner than expected and there’s a hint of bitterness in my mouth, but hey, these leaves were picked late in the season. And this tea is very true to its name…
