This may be the most ostentatiously named tea I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. I don't really know anything about the company itself, or in what way they are "royal", but if I were to speak against the liberal use of titles I'd have to shorten my email signature by three lines. The tea itself is somewhat ostentatious itself, all black with strait gold/red ribbons running through it. The leaves loosen in their 'agony' to a rich uniform chocolate brown, and emit a rich cocoa like aroma. I say Cocoa because I mean very specifically the rich smell/flavor of cocoa nibs, and not the saccharine qualities of chocolate. The tea itself also has a slight hint of cocoa, and further rich dark hints of wine-like tannins.

Brewing the tea glass by glass I was able to steep the leaves three or four times without any appreciable change in quality. Each cup was slightly milder, but the wine-like, and cocoa-like flavors never left me. Almost a red tea the flavors had a sweet quality that's hard to describe adequately to someone who's never experienced it, although its pervasive in the world of fine black tea's. This black tea sweet is a finishing note, leaving the mouth clean and the mind somewhat elevated. If your looking for a new morning cuppa its definitely worth giving a shot.
