Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot

I received some tester samples with my latest order from Culinary Teas. Among those samples was Caramel Creme Brule, which I knew would be among the first I would sample. The Culinary Teas webpage describing this product is lacking much detail on this tea, other than saying it contains caramel and vanilla flavors and that it is made with all natural flavorings. The aroma of this tea is fantastic, and its sweetness whetted my appetite for a delicious dessert tea. I brewed this tea using boiling water and a three-minute infusion time. The tea brews to a dark brown color and is mostly opaque. As with many teas, the longer this tea sits (whether on a warmer or cooling to room temperature), the darker and cloudier it becomes. This tea delivers a rich and creamy dessert tea experience. The caramel and vanilla notes are unmistakable and highly enjoyable. The tea is a sturdy brew, which makes it a great dessert tea, for either complementing or replacing a real dessert. I enjoyed this tea without adding anything, but I suspect that adding milk and sugar would make this tasty treat a little more indulgent. I made two batches of this tea, with the first being taken hot and the second as iced. The iced tea version was certainly drinkable, but the heavy body of the tea and the rich dessert flavors make this tea much more appropriate as a hot tea. Overall, this tea delivers a rich and soothing caramel flavor, and this is a tea I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid dessert tea.
