Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
|"The orange flavor is crisp and clean, accented a bit by an underlying sweetness "|
Orange Peel Black Tea Zest is a mix of black tea, calendula, orange peel, and natural flavors. The orange peels and calendula petals are generously scattered among the tea leaves. The dry blend offers a strong citrus aroma that is crisp and somewhat pungent. I steeped one teaspoon of leaves in one cup of boiling water and infused for three minutes. As is typically the case with black teas, the prepared tea was not visually interesting; however, the scent and flavor certainly were. While I wouldn't describe this tea's overall flavor proifile as overly pungent, it does bear an undeniable citrus flavor. The orange flavor is crisp and clean, accented a bit by an underlying sweetness that I suspect may be from the tea base. The tea has a slight medicinal flavor that I find hard to describe. It is not overly medicinal, but it is present nonetheless and deviates the flavor from plain orange peel just ever so slightly. This tea leaves the palate feeling clean and refreshed. The flavor does not linger but rather disappears as soon as the tea is swallowed. This tea is naturally sweet and I found it to need no milk or dairy added. I really enjoyed this tea both hot and iced, and found myself drinking it very quickly. I would love to drink this tea again and will consider purchasing some myself. I have no reservations about recommending this one.
