This tea is a blend of estate Assam teas. The leaves are the color of dark chocolate with bits of gold to liven up the mix. It has a wonderful aroma that brings to mind a malted caramel.
I set it up to brew using 2 rounded tablespoons of leaves to 1200ml of water set at 210 degrees. I let it steep for 2 minutes. The liquor is a beautiful redwood with malty aroma.
I have to say that I am not that impressed by the taste. It is rather flat with none of the highlights that make a good black tea enjoyable. It has a lingering musty aftertaste. I found that rock sugar didn't manage to lighten up the flavor any however adding cream did bring out a chocolate taste and did make the tea drinkable.
I didn't care for the flavor however folks that prefer to drink their black teas with cream and sugar might really like this blend.
