|"An enjoyable black tea that is great for any time of day that is more than reasonably priced. This would be a good staple in anyone's tea cupboard."|
Here is what the TeaVirve website has to say about this morning's tea:
This hand picked tea is made from one bud and one leaf of the Yunnan larger leaf variety of the tea trees. After picking it is processed by hand using the traditional “Gongfu” processing techniques, and then fully oxidised (fermented). While not containing as much caffeine as coffee, its moderate caffeine and lively taste is perfect to give you a good boost to get you started in the morning.
It is a pretty tea with approximately a quarter of the leaves being golden. It has a spicy aroma with hints of tobacco and malt. Teavirve is also includes brewing suggestions for all their teas which is so nice to see so I used 205 degree water and let it steep for 3 minutes.
It brews up into a coppery liquor that has a malty, bready aroma. This is a lighter tea with a medium malt to it. There is a sweeter spiciness in the middle of each sip that really brightens up the taste with just a hint of dryness. And let's not forget the lingering sweetly floral aftertaste.
This tea is an enjoyable easy sipping black tea that can be enjoyed any time of the day. Add in the fact that it is more then reasonably priced at $6.90 for 3.5 ounces and can be resteeped multiple times, and I can't help but recommend it.
