|"The perfect darjeeling for the mornings when that extra jolt of caffeine is appreciated!"|
My tea today is a blend of Darjeeling and Assam. When I think of blends like this my mind goes to breakfast teas however the dry aroma has no resemblance to those blends. Instead is it fruity with a hint of malt.
Following the suggestions on the website, I used a water temp of 210 degrees and a steep time of 3 minutes. The resulting liquor is a lighter brownish gold in coloring with a sweet aroma with just a touch of flowers.
The taste is a delight! You have the fruitiness with a hint of muscatel that one would expect from a darjeeling with a fuller body that one would expect for an assam. Very smooth without a hint of dryness.
I find that this would be the perfect darjeeling for the mornings when that extra jolt of caffeine is appreciated. The price is also more then reasonable. This is one tea that I can definitely see making its way into my stash for that first pot of tea of the day.
