Thumbs up!"I would recommend this as an excellent green tea choice for those who like green teas already (and so are not seeking to drown out the flavor of green tea) and want a bit of fruit flavor that doesn't clash or smother the tea they are drinking."

Peter Asher's website has this to say about their Pomegranate Sencha: "The pomegranates magenta color certainly makes them pop and one look at their vibrant skin probably has you expecting a provocative punch of flavor. Well, you won’t be disappointed here. This cup of tea is the perfect package for drinkers who want a pleasing potion in a small package. One cup is enough to win over the pickiest of the picky and keep the coming back for more. So if you’re looking for a palatable pekoe chock-full of natural goodness look no further."

If I were to read this before purchasing the tea, I might choose another option simply because it seems a vague description. But it seems to me that if I were looking into a flavored sencha, I might venture to try a pomegranate one simply because it seems an unusual flavor to find in a tea and because pomegranate seems to have a dry sweetness that is subtle and tart and seems a pretty good fit with a sencha.

Indeed, the dry, sweet and tart pomegranate is a perfect match for this sencha's dry sweetness. The tartness is light. The first flavor to assert is the tart fruit flavor of pomegranate and this flavor merges gently into a tart, semi astringent sencha closing. This tea is not outlandish or wildly flavored. It's simple. It's good.

I think I would recommend this as an excellent green tea choice for those who like green teas already (and so are not seeking to drown out the flavor of green tea) and want a bit of fruit flavor that doesn't clash or smother the tea they are drinking. I found the fruit not too heavy and very natural. Really, this was a nice, straightforward pairing of two sympathetic tastes.
