|"It's sweet and fruity with a hint of black licorice."|
The flavour is light but nicely balanced. It's sweet and fruity with a hint of black licorice. Putting the word spice in the title is a big misleading because it often implies something hot, but the only spice here is anise. it's good, though, adding a nice background for the balanced fruit and pear.
The flavour is fantastic, but this tea has some downsides. The white tea is almost entirely lost underneath the flavouring, though that's never terribly surprising with white teas. It's not something I could drink often; either, because it's so sweet with nothing sharp or acidic to cut through. It's more akin to a breakfast or dessert tea than the more refreshing blend I expected from the name.
Upsides: I do get a solid second steep, though it's less pear and more floral and spice. And the pear flavour, though not entirely realistic, is as close as can be reasonably expected from such a tricky flavour. I think without the actual texture of eating pear, pears lose a lot of their unique quality. But really, despite this not fitting its name particularly well, I don't care. A delicious tea by any other name is just as tasty.
