"A very nice oolong that has a variety of flavors depending on the temperature. This is one that I do recommend giving a shot."

I just love it when my samples are sealed up in a vacuum packed foil. That way I am ensured that they are nice and fresh even if it takes me a bit to get to them. My sample today has large slightly twisted leaves that are a dark brownish black. The dry aroma is woody with a twinge of soapiness.I set it up to brew using 195 degree water and a steep time of 3 minutes. The resulting liquor is a golden brown with an aroma that reminds me of charcoal. Not really what I was expecting after reading their website since it discusses orchid flavors.
The flavor however does have orchid highlights with a smokiness from being heavily roasted. As it cools I am also picking up hazelnuts and apricot. A very nice oolong that has a variety of flavors depending on the temperature. This is one that I would definitely considering stocking for myself.
Visit Mark T. Wendell Teas for more information on this tea and many more from their extensive product catalogue.
