I set them up to brew using boiling water and a steep time of three minutes. The liquor reminds me of amber with gold and bits tangerine. The fragrance is faint yet very distinctly a blend of fruit and flowers.
The taste is light with just a hint of a bite. The flavors themselves are muddled and I am unable to tease out any individually when hot. As it cools down, the flavor becomes fuller with the tartness of citrus and the sweetness of a ripe apple. The aftertaste is what really makes this tea. It lingers on the tongue and the roof of the mouth imparting the taste and texture of warm honey.
While this darjeeling hasn't jumped onto my list of favorites, it is a good solid offering. And since tastes differ, this tea might just jump to the head of your list.
