|"A lighter cup of tea with a delightful citrus aftertaste. As long as the drinker isn't sensitive to caffeine this is a great tea to drink any time of the day."|
My sample which arrived in a vacuum sealed package with just enough for a pot of tea consists of slightly smoked Chinese black tea and good sized pieces of blood oranges. The aroma follows through being a light smoke and the tartness of blood oranges.
Following the instructions on my sample package, I set my Breville for a water temp of 195 degrees and a steep time of 4 minutes. The resulting liquor is a dark brownish black that resembles coffee. There is nothing coffee-like about the aroma however with a strong fragrance of the oranges.
This tea brews up into a very smooth cup of tea with a slight tartness of the oranges. I had to search to find the smokiness which is fine with me as I don't care for heavily smoked teas. There is a delightful citrus aftertaste which lingers on the roof of the mouth.
I do have to say that this tea does have enough caffeine that I finally feel alert enough to greet the day's activities yet it has a lighter body which makes it a great tea to drink at any time of the day. It's one that is perfect for an everyday cup of tea to sip while at work or reading a great book.
