|"Amazingly complex, offering hints of toasty, nutty, sweet, and floral flavors, with an underlying fruity pungency"|
The tea presents itself as long, fluffy, and darkly-colored leaves. The aroma is decidedly roasty-toasty in nature. I used my standard black tea preparation (three minute steep with boiling water) to prepare this tea. It took only one sip of this tea to completely win me over. This is a unique black tea that deviated from my expectations of black tea. It is amazingly complex, offering hints of toasty, nutty, sweet, and floral flavors, with an underlying fruity pungency. It actually drinks more like an oolong than a black tea. I enjoyed every sip, and while I could just sip it and enjoy, I could also get caught up in trying to pinpoint the many unique flavor notes popping up at different points. Having reviewed so many teas for Teaviews now, rare is the case that I decide that I must have a tea after a few sips or a single sampling of any one offering. This tea was an exception: I wanted to buy some, and I wanted it now. I was really disappointed to see that this tea is no longer available.
