|"Very unusual Darjeeling which really reminds me of a vanilla sweetbread. Very tasty just not the norm."|
I set it up to brew using 195 degree water and a steep time of 3 minutes. The resulting liquor is a pale yellow green. The aroma now is still very delicate but now has yeasty overtones.
With everything about this tea leaning towards the delicate I was expecting the same with the flavor but that far from the truth. The first thing to hit me was a strong vanilla taste followed by a yeasty breadiness really reminding me of sweetbread. This is followed up by a slight dryness with a mineral tang.
This has to be one of the most unusual darjeelings that I have ever tasted and rating it is a dilemma. I like the taste but is rather surprising when one is expecting at least some of the usual suspects when sipping a darjeeling. It is well worth checking out.
