Yuzu is a type of fruit, particularly popular in Japan, Formosa refers to Taiwan, and pomegranates are (according to Wikipedia) native to the area that is modern day Iran, so this is quite the eclectic mix. It's basically a United Nations of fruit, and like any caucus that brings together a variety of people with different backgrounds, these flavours just can't seem to quite get along. The leaves are also a strange mix. Visually, they're choppy brown and black with twigs throughout. Marigolds provide a splash of colour, but otherwise the leaves aren't very appealing. Despite this, they smell amazingly, deliciously fruity.

I steep for 5 minutes at 205°. Both the scent and the flavour are woody and slightly, unhappily, bitter. The fruit flavour is nicely accurate to both the yuzu and the pomegranate, but it's a bit too syrupy, and it ends up heavy. The base tea has a strong presence, not getting lost beneath the strong flavour, but the base doesn't mesh with the added fruits. The tea is woody and earthy while the fruits are vibrant and syrupy. Neither aspect does the other any favours.

The flavours in this tea aren't particularly appealing. They're palatable, but everything seems to fight with everything else, pushing to get to the forefront. It's not a bad blend, but there's nothing to redeem it. I'll probably give away what I have left and let this fade from my memory.
