In the winter, us tea people tend to gravitate towards a darker tea like a nice oolong or darjeeling. As it gets darker earlier and when you need a reminder of summer fun, a nice white or jasmine is a great pick me up.
Light, crisp and linen-like I steeped this white tea 3 times. At one minute the liquor was a very pale yellow with a fresh floral taste to it, very clean with hints of melon and cucumber. At two minutes the tea took on a darker more full yellow color, still a floral taste present but a bit sweeter with hints of apple and grass. At three minutes the floral taste seemed even more pronounced with a very bright liquor. I was surprised to find more broken pieces of leaves than expected since this tea is graded SFTGFOP1 (super fine tippy golden flowery orange pekoe, grade 1) which suggests many tips, long and wiry in appearance, though many tips were present.
In conclusion, I'd give this tea a 7.5. Not the best white I've had, not the worst. I noticed that when allowed to cool, the flavors became more evident. This would make a nice iced white.
