I have to admit that when I go digging through my samples to find a tea to review that the noncaffienated tend to get put off to the side. I am not even quite sure why as I have several that once I have tried them have become steady visitors to my personal tea stash. Persimmon Tree's Peach Picnic is another one that will be joining me.

When dry this delightful infusion's aroma reminds me strongly of peaches which is appropriate. What surprised me was the hints of pineapple that I am picking up. The ingredients consist of organic green rooibos, orange peel, sunflower petals, peach, strawberry and orange flavoring. I don't run across green rooibos very often which makes this even more of a treat.

I set it up to brew using 200 degree water and a steep time of 5 minutes. Actually the directions on my container calls for 3 to 5 minutes so I decided to go to the outer range. The resulting liquor has an aroma that reminded me fresh peaches being prepared for a pie.

I was very pleased with this infusion. When hot it was almost like drinking a heated fruit juice would be great with a bit of rum for the holiday season. It had a creamy texture and naturally sweet from the peaches with just a bit of tartness from the strawberry flavoring.

Where this infusion really shines is as an iced tea which makes me sad that I didn't check it out earlier in the year. It really is like drinking a lighter peach juice. Very natural tasting. Very refreshing and sure to please both kids and adults. You can bet that I will have a large supply on hand for next summer.
