|"Makes for a bland cup of tea. Not recommended."|
My sample today is oolong blend consisting of oolong, marigold, safflowers and tropical flavorings. It is a pretty tea with the olive green of the oolong contrasting with the red and blue of the flowers. The aroma is all about the tropics with pineapple and mango.
My sample has some unusual brewing suggestions on the back calling for a water temp of 212 degrees and a steep time of 3 minutes. I went ahead and followed the suggestions, and the liquor is a bright sunny color. The aroma is nutty with a hint of mango.
I had hopes for a tasty cup to tea to brighten up a cold and rainy morning. Unfortunately this blend is pretty bland. If you pay close attention there is a slight nuttiness and a splash of mango. Perhaps using more tea per cup would help but I did use the suggested 1 1/2 teaspoon for a cup of tea.
