Thumbs up!"This green tea has a little spunk to it, it starts out nice and smooth and then you get a taste of citrus-y orange zest. Yuzu is a nice addition, it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a green tea but it adds a nice citrus kick to the cup. "

This first-flush fukamushi tamaryokucha with dried peel from yuzu makes for a unique combination. Mellow Monk's Yuzu dream reminded me a familiar scent, of fennel and coriander, though nothing of the sorts is included in this neon yellow cup. Mellow Monk pairs a high quality tamaryokucha green, the same quality as their award winning Top Leaf tea, with yuzu, a fruit commonly used in Japanese cooking.

Yuzu alone has a flavor similar to grapefruit and mandarin orange. I brewed Yuzu Dream for 2 minutes. After brewing it didn't really smell like the fennel and coriander I smelt from the dry leaves. It had an almost citrus-y spinach scent to it.

This green tea has a little spunk to it, it starts out nice and smooth and then you get a taste of citrus-y orange zest. Yuzu is a nice addition, it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a green tea but it adds a nice citrus kick to the cup.
