Samantha’s Teaview Snapshot
"The pearls unfurled into what reminded me of little hermit crabs that then transformed into sea anemones as they fell to the bottom of my pot. This is definitely a tea to bring to a party or for when guests come over. "

This is the second or third tea from Drink the Leaf that I've reviewed and I have enjoyed everyone of their teas I've had. Their website doesn't give much away about them besides the fact that they are located in Napa, California and founded by wine and food enthusiast Dan Ritzenthaler. Drink the Leaf is in the process of becoming a certified organic handler. To be honest, I've never actually had jasmine pearls, I'd had jasmine tea before but never pearls. The pearls in this tea have a really pleasant smell to them, almost like jasmine and white chocolate. I brewed this tea for 3 minutes with water at 190 F. The pearls unfurled into what reminded me of little hermit crabs that then transformed into sea anemones as they fell to the bottom of my pot. This is definitely a tea to bring to a party or for when guests come over.
To the tongue this tea has an almost linen-like taste with hints of white chocolate and fresh budding jasmine. The jasmine flavor is just right, it's not too flowery, it's flavor is evenly balanced with the greenness of the leaf itself.
There's something in these pearls that any pearl girl (or guy) would enjoy, they're entertaining to watch and you might just have to drink this tea with some white chocolate on the side.
