Katie’s Teaview Snapshot
"Its brilliantly clean finish is what makes it really stand out."

As one would expect from a mao feng, the leaves of this tea are deep green, twisted curls. I steep 1.5 teaspoons at 170° for two minutes. My first impression is that the tea is smooth and surprisingly sweet. It has a clean, nutty scent that pairs nicely with the flavour. The tea is slightly nutty and vaguely vegetal with a honey sweetness, a refreshingly clean aftertaste, and a touch of buttery texture. There's a slight fruity acidity to cut through the sweetness and balance the nuttiness. It's simple but delicious.
My 3-minute second steep has that same slight acidity and vegetal notes, but it's got a flatter flavour and texture than the first. The sweetness and buttery texture are gone, but it's still remarkably refreshing. It's a bit disappointing, but it's palatable.
Tranquility is an extremely appropriate moniker for this leaf. It's mild and calming, but its brilliantly clean finish is what makes it really stand out.
