After three minutes at 195°, a tablespoon of these dark brown twisted leaves brew up into a pleasant honey amber coloured liquor that smells of woods, flowers, and honey. It's thick with an oily mouthfeel that coats the mouth and leaves a lingering, woody aftertaste.

It's woody with notes of orchid and honey. It's smooth and earthy with a vague hint of berry in the aftertaste. It's robust and heavily aromatic.

Considering the flavours, this is a surprisingly delicate-tasting cup. Most of the robustness comes from the scent. I generally prefer my oolongs to have a lighter flavour, sticking to creamy and floral teas rather than woodsy ones, but this is a nice compromise of a mild flavour balanced with other rich aspects. If you want an aromatic leaf, you can probably find more interesting ones, but you can't find them for a better price.
