capitalpresidentialteaAt the time of this writing we'll soon be ringing in the New Year. A new year, a new term for our President, and a fresh look at life. I chose Capital Tea's Presidential Blend not just because of the second inauguration but because of what this tea symbolizes. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, this tea is laced with red, white, and blue. Rose petals for red, and cornflowers for blue this tea carries the colors of our flag. White and black tea are added as well for a smooth base.

Reaching out to our neighboring Caribbean countries and our territory Puerto Rico, the flavors blend seamlessly together. With exotic fruits that reach the coasts of the United States, dried mango pieces, papaya, and passion fruit are added to symbolize our maritime power.

I brewed this tea with 1 teaspoon for 3 minutes with full boiling water. The tea itself smelt very strongly of pineapple to me, though I'm sure that was the mango I was smelling. For not being a very fruity tea lover, this tea was pretty enjoyable for me. When I think of the U.S. I'd think of a strong black tea, but this tea does something else. The mango and papaya are very strong flavors in this tea but they are equally balanced with the white and black tea blend.

The fruitiness of this tea brings about memories of summer vacations on the East coast. The hints of black and white tea I taste remind me of the inward states of the U.S. that aren't graced with ocean waters. Together we have the US in a cup! The red white and blue.
