Thumbs up!"Tastewise this is a mellow puerh which is perfect as an introduction to this style of tea. It is thick and smooth with flavors of molasses, spices and baked peaches. "

cantonwhitedragonloosepuerhI woke up this morning in the mood for a rich dark tea so I headed to my samples to find a puerh. When I discovered this puerh from Canton Tea I just knew that I had hit the jackpot. The dry aroma is earthy, a little bit musty yet also reminds me of candied salmon. The leaves are a uniform golden brown.

My instructions on this sample called for gong fu which would have been impossible as I had to head down to go to work. So I fudged and brewed it up using my Breville OneTouch tea maker setting the water temperature at 200 degrees and a steep time of 2 minutes. The resulting liquor is a deep reddish brown in coloring with an aroma that reminds me of walking in one of our old growth forests after a rain.

Tastewise this is a mellow puerh which is perfect as an introduction to this style of tea. It is thick and smooth with flavors of molasses, spices and baked peaches. There is also a dryness that settles on the tongue after every sip which is quite pleasant.

I found this tea to be an easy drinker and quite delicious. The price is reasonable and worth picking up to use as a gateway tea.
