Tozy Tea offers high quality tea in easy-to-use pyramid sachets, allowing one to get the oft=preferred flavor of loose leaf teas while having the convenience of the tea bag. Their "Up North!" tea is a blend of Chinese black teas and is so named because, as the website says, it "reminds us of good times enjoying Michigan’s forests, streams and lakes". The pyramid sachet allows me to see the tea inside, which is long and thin, slightly curly. The pyramid sachet is plenty big enough to allow the leaves to "do their thing" during infusion. I steeped the tea for three minutes in boiling water, which resulted in a coppery-brown transparent liquid. One sip was all I needed to convince me that this was some delicious tea. It has all of the qualities of a great black tea and none of the less desirable qualities that can sometimes pop up in a black tea. What I mean by this is that the flavor is bold, brisk, and bright, without any flat or heavy aftertaste. This is a perfect morning brew, as it is certainly sturdy enough to get you up and going. I savored every sip of my first cup of this tea. It is rich and flavorful with just a hint of natural sweetness. Almost immediately, I brewed up a second cup, this time using a bit of German rock sugar. While it was still quite delicious this way, I found that I preferred the tea better on its own. But because the tea is a sturdy brew, it certainly can handle milk and or sugar, depending on the drinker's preference. As the Tozy Tea website describes, this tea works equally well as a hot or iced tea, which is unusual because I usually find that most teas perform really well one way and not so much the other.
Overall, this is a highly tasty black tea, and one I would quickly recommend to anyone looking for that go-to black tea or a new breakfast blend. This tea packs lots of high-quality flavor and is very enjoyable.
