|"Great oolong for every day pleasure with a rather reasonable price tag. "|
The dry leaves range in color from a spring green to a lighter olive color. There really isn't much of an aroma when dry at all. That however really changes once the leaves are steeped. The liquor is a lighter golden color and gives off a lush floral fragrance of orchids and lilacs.
The flavor itself is delicate but layered. The base note is nutty with a touch of citrus tartness that washes away into a sweetness of the flowers. There is also a hint of melon in the middle note. Finally there is an aftertaste that lingers for a short time of brown sugar and honey.
This oolong makes for a very pleasant cup, one that I can see myself reaching for again and again. I really do think that I have found myself another every day use. The flavor is complex enough to make it enjoyable and the price is great. I can get myself 8 ounces of the leaves and a neat canister for under $27.00.
