I have a definite love for both jasmine and oolong teas though I have found that the mix is very hit and miss for me. This tea however is definitely a hit. Harvested in 2011 in China, my sample arrived to me in a vacuum packed foil bag designed to ensure freshness. From the moment that I opened up the bag, I was immersed in the very natural scent of jasmine with just a hint of nuttiness from the oolong itself.

I set it up to brew using 195 degree water and a steep time of 3 minutes. The resulting brew is a golden brown with the sweet aroma of the jasmine. The nuttiness has become more pronounced once steeped which resulting in an interesting fragrance which is quite delightful.

The nuttiness does make itself known at the beginning of sip which leads into just a hint of astringency in the middle of each sip which is smoothed out by the sweetness of the jasmine itself. This is a lighter tea which makes it perfect for afternoons and early evenings.

I would be happy to add this tea to my collection except for the fact that it is out of stock. I will however be keeping an eye out for when it is available.
