|"Rather naturally sweet with tastes of apricots, peaches, caramel and tobacco, this tea is definitely a winner in my book."|
I was rather shocked when I opened up my sample. I have checked out several teas that have the word 'golden' in the name and that usually indicates that some of the leaves are a golden brown in coloring. In this case however almost all of the leaves are golden and have a soft golden fur on them. And the aroma they give off is a mouthwatering blend of tobacco and apricots.
I set it up to brew using 195 degree water and a steep time of 2 minutes. The resulting liquor is a caramel brown in color and very fragrant with tobacco, brown sugar and apricots.
My first impression of the flavor was wow. It is incredibly flavorful with some nice complexity. Rather naturally sweet with tastes of apricots, peaches, caramel and tobacco, this tea is definitely a winner in my book. And the lingering aftertaste of caramel is just icing on the cake. This really does have to be one of the most delicious black teas that I have had the pleasure of trying.
This tea is priced higher then I usually pay for a black tea however this is one that you can resteep. I am on my second pot and it is just as flavorful as the first. Would I purchase some? In a heart beat. I am really hoping that one of Canton Tea's partners here in the US carries this tea.
