OriginTealogoOrigin Tea is a small online business located in Taipei, Taiwan that features pure, high quality teas in sample size portions so you can decide what you like the best. Their focus is on tea it self, not sales pitches and endless descriptions, Origin Tea lets the tea speak for itself. So let's see if I can translate.

Mid-Fire Rei Lei is a medium roasted oolong grown in Alishan, Taiwan. This cup features sweet chocolate, floral roasted notes on tightly bound green and brown leaves. The leaves hang tightly together, and refuse to open till the third brew. By that time a beautiful large leaf and bud may be discovered.

Two teaspoons of leaves were used to fill an 8 ounce tea pot heated to 190 F. To the nose the infusion's aroma is of creamy butter and coconut. The taste has a mineral texture followed by sweet and toasted notes. This oolong is definitely a fuller, deeper roasted oolong than I expected, the flavor was great, I just wish it didn't leave my mouth so dry afterwards.

This tea is unfortunately no longer offered on Origin Tea's website, I guess it was a hit?
