All the ingredients of this tea include black tea, cinnamon, almonds, cloves, orange peel, rose petals, and natural flavor. I steeped 1 teaspoon of this tea in a little over 1 cup of water. The water turned a nice deep brown color after 5 minutes. I smelled mostly cloves from a distance. First I tried this tea plain. I expected a more bitter taste but ended up with a smooth cup of spicy, sweet tea. It was like drinking the very essence of autumn in my tea cup. I wouldn’t have guessed that orange peel and rose petals would blend so well with cinnamon and almonds. It is a brilliant mix of flavors. In the past I have had desserts that included cinnamon, cloves, and orange peel. I was reminded of those flavors in this tea. I could just barely taste the rose petals but they added a slightly floral flavor. I was mostly left with an aftertaste of sweet cinnamon in my mouth.
Next I tried this tea with a bit of cream and honey. Just when I thought this tea couldn’t get better, it did. It was suddenly transformed into a dessert drink. Honey is absolutely amazing in this tea. If you want to sweeten it, I suggest honey over sugar. It enhances the almond flavor. The cream made it even smoother. This tea is strong since it is a highly oxidized tea but that’s just what I want with a good black tea. It delivers a strong, balanced flavor.
I just finished drinking a cup of this tea about 20 minutes ago and I can still smell cinnamon and cloves in the air. A cup of Autumn Fire tea is like a candle and brings the smell of fall along with it. This tea is also has some great health benefits. Black tea and rose petals contain antioxidants, cinnamon and orange peels help aid digestion, cloves are often said to reduce tooth pain, and almonds can help your brain function. In conclusion, this is probably my favorite tea I’ve had this autumn season. They couldn’t have given this lovely tea a better name. Autumn Fire captures all the colors, aromas, flavors, and characteristics of autumn.
