My sample consisted of large twisted leaves that are a dark cocoa brown with some that are light golden in color. The dry aroma is faint with a slightly fruity aroma. I set it up to brew using 212 degree water and a steep time of 2 minutes. The resulting liquor is medium copper brown in coloring.
There are teas that will put a huge smile on my face anytime that I take a sip. This darjeeling from the Turzum Estate happens to be one of those. It has a wonderful malty, grapey aroma that follows throu gh on the taste with a bang. Rather light on the astringency for a darjeeling, it has a sweet, fruity top notes that linger into the aftertaste. Combine that with an earthy base with hints of malt and smoke, and this tea is a real winner. This is definitely a tea that I plan on picking up and an estate that I will be following.
