|"A delightful black tea that keeps going strong through a second steep."|
The dry leaves were long and a dark charcoal black. They gave up the delightful aroma of both honey and mint. I set them up to brew using boiling water and a steep time of 2 minutes. The resulting liquor is a dark reddish-brown with a malty, minty fragrance.
The taste was a real delight. I was able to pick up brown sugar, malt, cloves with just a hint of cinnamon. There was also a lingering minty aftertaste. As the tea cooled it became sweeter so I would be willing to bet that it would make for a great iced tea.
I don't usually resteep a black tea but I took a chance on this one. The second steep blessed me with flavors of plums and apricots along with even more sweetness. The minty aftertaste is still present. What a great multi-layered tea!
If you are looking for an unusual, long lasting black tea then you can't go wrong with this offering. It is one that I have put on my list to pick up for my personal stash.
