Hello, I'm Patty. I'm a third-generation Californian, and I currently live in the rural high desert country northeast of Los Angeles. I am a writer and vegetable gardener, and I am interested in almost everything, even if I don't completely understand it. That means everything from animal rights to languages to quantum physics and cosmology to computers. I'm also back in school, finishing up my BS in Communications, with Mediation my ultimate goal.
We rescue kitties here, and I also have my own three cats, Dino, Bella and Figaro (Figgy), whom I adore. I tend towards the healthful in eating, but I'm afraid I love sugar, in my tea and everywhere else. I was raised drinking tea, from cambric (mostly milk) when I was little to a variety of traditional black teas as I got older. Of course, there was always good old Lipton, but we drank a lot of loose teas in our house, probably a result of my parents' Irish, English and German family origins.
I currently keep several jasmines, Darjeelings and Assams on hand at all times, but my favorite has become the not always popular Lapsang Souchong. There's something about the smoky character that makes me feel very pioneerish as I'm sipping while I sit at my computer and write. I also love the greens and whites. I just love tea.
I always look forward to the newest Darjeeling harvests. I'm also blending my own teas these days, and my current favorite is about half second flush Darjeeling and half Imperial Lapsang Souchong. Not to everyone's taste, but I'm hooked! I'm always looking to try new varieties, and I can hardly wait to see what my next discovery will be.
