Hi my name is Shane. I'm 18 years old, born, raised, and residing in Pennsylvania. I love science (more specifically of math, physics, space, etc.), playing and listening to music (I play mandolin and guitar), cult movies (such as Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), spicy food, philosophy and the wonderful drink of tea. It's just never quite a perfect day until I can have at least one good cuppa tea.
My journey with tea began quite early in my life and like just about everyone I started on teabags. At the time I was very young, probably 4 or 5, and didn’t really know much about tea outside of teabags that I would love to watch steep and change the color of the water. I still remember my mom making me hot tea with a cough drop in it when I had a cold, always made me feel so much better. It was awhile until I actually got serious about tea and thought of it more of a hobby and even a lifestyle than just the simple teabag here and there. Tea has been officially an essential part of my life for over a year now and I continue to grow my knowledge and love for all types of teas and training my pallet to pick out the beautiful tastes of tea from around the world.
By far my favorite types of teas are oolongs but I also thoroughly enjoy black, green, white, and herbal teas. I am not a big fan of breakfast teas and Earl grey, in my opinion if your looking for the kind of flavor those types of teas offer you
might as well drink coffee, but please don't take it personally if you enjoy them =). I find it hard to stick to a particular tea though because I am always wanting to try a different tea and compare it with what I have already tried. Tea is a wonderful experience that always has something new and interesting.
